How To Split Your Attention
Like so many interesting things in live, learning to Split Your Attention
begins with placing conscious Attention and Intention on
having your Center, Grounding Cord, and Bubble Of Space.
The Problem With Splitting Your Attention
It is not all peaches and cream.
Becoming aware of what you were not aware that you were not aware of before can ruin your day.
Your secret agreement to not notice what others do not notice permits you to graze among the Zombies as a Zombie.
Being a sleeping Zombie may seem like the best solution to the current situation. But is it?
Being a suddenly woken up Zombie among sleeping Zombies can cause life-changing problems for you.
(Not for the sleeping Zombies, however, as long as they can stay asleep.)
But what then? You are alone? You are outcast? Perhaps you are perceived as 'the enemy'? This could get 'bad'.
Perhaps you should consider what might happen before you jump into irreversible awareness expansion...

This difference between what you notice that you notice, and what you notice that other people do not notice, may not, at first, be very large.
On the other hand, the very fact that you are noticing that you notice things that other people are not noticing can be devastatingly disillusioning. The differences in noticing between you and someone else may be your first irrefutable evidence that you are indeed different from other people... or that they are different from you... depending upon if you are self-referenced or other-referenced.
'Self-Referenced' means that your framework for interacting with reality is your own Authority (with a capital 'A', implying that your Authority is inalienable. It came with you being born.)
'Other-Referenced' means that your framework for interacting with reality is other people's authority (with no capital 'a', implying that their 'authority' is circumstantially granted to them by their position in some kind of organizational hierarchy, or from the certificate hanging on their wall).
After noticing that you can notice differences between human beings so startling as that you notice things that they do not notice, there are some different things you can do with this. The question being, are you doing these things consciously for the benefit of all beings everywhere, or are you doing these things neurotically for the benefit of the Gremlin food you can create?
Neurotic Self-Serving Gremlin Things:
Energy Vampires
Most of the time you do not even know where your attention is.
Therefore, your attention wanders around, bouncing from one thing to the next. Whatever flashy object or loud sound strikes us first gets our attention.
Without specific practices you will have difficulty placing your attention anywhere with intention, for any length of time. This is because your attention span is being trained to be so short and needy that you get accustomed to letting your attention be absorbed in distractions.
Since your energy follows your attention, then whatever has your attention also consumes your energy.
By Splitting Your Attention you start to notice where you Attention if flowing, and more importantly, why.
A thousand distractions will feed on you whenever you do not pay attention to exactly what you are feeding with your flow of energy.
Here is a list of distractions that may be consistently grabbing your attention and devouring your life energy just like a vampire.
Without paying attention to your attention, your precious energy is easily sucked away. Like a sieve with a thousand holes you can be drained in a matter of seconds. No wonder you might be feeling so tired halfway through the day. Without realizing how, you may be frivolously spending your daily energy allotment. Then you have little patience for deep listening, for being-with others, or for doing Edgework Experiments.
What It Gives
By splitting your attention to notice and experience your five bodies simultaneously,
plus noticing what you are noticing and what you are noticing with,
and why...
you live more diversely and intensely in the same amount of time.

Where is your attention right now, for example?
Why is it there?
Why not over there?
What is going on for you about this?

This is because the Adult Ego State occupies a very small now, in fact, a Minimized Now.

In a Minimized NOW, there is no time.

Role Play yourself on 'stage' in front of your Team, with full commitment and respect to your character and to what your character is acting out.
Do not burlesque yourself. This is a drama, not a comedy. Viewers need to experience the epic nature of the self preservations and self deceptions, the loneliness and self-doubts, etc. Make this so true that others love you as you are.

Figure out WHY you build your consciousness apparatus this particular way, and not the same way as your mother or father or brothers or sisters.

If you are not part of the solution then you are part of the problem.
